Statement to Voters
Julie lives and works in Coatbridge North ward. She has been a councillor before. During her time there, she was noted for her work on the equal pay claims going through at that time, earning a name check from Action 4 Equality Scotland as one of the few politicians taking an interest in their resolution. She also highlighted problems with the Mears housing property contract, leading to the resignation of the leader of the council. In particular, she campaigned against the siting of St Ambrose and Buchanan High Schools on Drumpellier Park on safety grounds.
If elected, Julie will;
- Vote to keep rent rises down
- Campaign to restore proper core funding to Women’s Aid and Citizens Advice Bureaux.
- Campaign to ensure the safety of all at St Ambrose and Buchanan High Schools
