Inverness West

Statement to Voters

Highland Council covers too big an area and is under-resourced. Inverness would have a better future if it had its own City Council.

Charleston Academy buildings are extremely poor. The work now proposed is too little too late. Our children deserve better education facilities.

Roads are getting worse. Potholes are not being filled in. The buses are unreliable. I will demand that roads and public transport are a priority.

The population of Inverness West is growing fast and Highland Council needs to;

  • provide better health and care services,
  • improvements to school buildings and facilities,
  • encourage the provision of local shops and small businesses,
  • provide more cycling and walking paths,
  • tackle overdue road repairs
  • maintain and create new children’s play areas.
