Celebrate and Coordinate with ISP Safe
“Witches New Year” Monday November 1st with ISP Safe, let’s gather the covens, raise a glass, light a candle! This will be an informal discussion for women only and will not be recorded. Women from all around the world welcome!
Women’s activists have marked 25 November as a day against violence since 1981. The date commemorates the brutal assassination of the three Mirabal sisters, political activists in the Dominican Republic, in 1960 on orders of Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo (1930-1961)
Lilias Adie of Torryburn Fife was accused of witchcraft in 1704 and even under torture claimed that she could not identify any others as they all wore masks at the meetings. Although she could have named other alleged witches and potentially made her situation easier, this simple lie saved the lives of others in her community.
